The Crossroads Theatre was built in 1978. Together with H3 Hardy Collaborative, Stages Consultants was commissioned to work on this study for the renovation and improvement of this theatre. Adjacent to the George Street Playhouse, part of this study included how best to utilize shared spaces including offices, lobby and concessions. The team, which included the technical staff, administrative staff and user groups, discussed their goals and aspirations for the space, as well as its current technological and physical limitations. The Crossroads Theatre was razed to make room for the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, which opened in 2019.
